The Dawson Springs Police Department is a full-service, full-time police department offering 24 hour services to Dawson Springs and the surrounding areas. We also operate a 24 hour telecommunications center which serves as a primary dispatch center for the Dawson Springs Police Department and the Dawson Springs Fire and Rescue, as well as a liaison to other departments.


Dawson Springs is a community of approximately 3000 residents along the Tradewater River primarily in Southwestern corner of Hopkins County. Our city limits does extend into Caldwell County to incorporate Tradewater Park, an early 1900's major league baseball field that was utilized by the Pittsburgh Pirates for spring training.

The Dawson Springs Police Department enjoys a long history to coincide with the rich history of Dawson Springs. We have traced the origin of police in this community back as far as 1874, when the first post office opened.
